givehappy said: I’ve seen the multiple pages together in one post and I’m not sure how it’s done…can you explain? Is it done directly from the app or do you have to export the images then select all three? Thanks!
I exported the drawings to the camera roll and then used the Tumblr app to upload them as a set. I think it’s nifty how you can just drag-and-drop to rearrange the pictures in a set.
If you don’t have the Tumblr app you could just use mobile Safari on your iPad, or send them by mail and upload with a computer. But the app’s upload feature is really good and works seamlessly.
I really liked all the versions of this, so I just decided not to decide and ended up posting all three.
For giantforesttree:
You can basically use all the tools to make a running paint effect. I haven’t had much experience with it in real life, so I based these on pictures from google.
The easiest is just to draw it in with either of the pens, the marker or pencil, depending on what kind of look you want. If you’re drawing big, you can just use the watercolor brush.
Experiment. Learn how the different tools behave and what you can do with them. If you have a specific effect in mind, just try until you find something that works. I had no idea how to do this until you asked.
Hello. I'm a Tumblr user who also happens to love drawing with Paper 53. I really like your drawings a lot and appreciate your tips on create various effects. I just wonder if you know how to create the effects of running paints on Paper 53, and if you do, could you please show me? Thanks in advance ^^ — giantforesttree
I’ve never drawn that before, but I’m trying to think up ways. Making a little example post now, but until then you could check out zhenonpaper’s illustration: http://zhenonpaper.tumblr.com/post/39452273677/2013-resolutions-made-with-paper
There’s running paint there that looks really nice.
Okay, so it’s not quite dead yet, but it’s definitely on its last legs. It’s a nightmare to use and I really need a new one.
So a question for you (hello everyone!): New Maglus with replaceable tip, Bamboo or LunaTik?

Sebastiansdrawings asked if I had any techniques or lessons to share from my tiger drawing. Firstly, there are people much more talented than me that could help you more. I’m leaving some fur links at the bottom.
Secondly, drawing fur is much the same as drawing hair. Use 3 or more color tones to create depth and texture. Mbbradbury made a great hair tutorial! Also, Mademistakes wrote an article about how to use Paper that is excellent!
Thirdly, I wasn’t that happy with my approach to the matted fur, so take that tip with a grain of salt. Use your own judgement and taste to see what works for you.
Last, but not least, thank you all for the comments and kind words! I really appreciate it!
Acosta’s Tiger
Sylvia’s Hare, dog Rosie and dog Percy.
Mademistake’s Chewbacca.
Zemyatin’s dog Rosa.
Joaquim’s Cat.
There’s probably loads more of good examples, but these are some of my favorites.
I think I’ll call this one finished finally. Even though there are things I’m not happy with. Maybe someday I’ll actually think about the background before I start drawing and save myself a lot of time and effort.

Sketching made easy with Paper! Four easy steps! Come one, come all!
But seriously, while trying to learn how to sketch urban landscapes, this is the approach that worked best for me.
Making watercolor splotches isn’t exactly difficult, but I was bored and couldn’t find the motivation to draw anything else today.

More practice sketches. Oddly enough, I quite like drawing them this size.

I’m not very good at sketching city or landscape scenes, so I’ve started doing these small ones from pictures on my phone. It helps me to not fiddle so much with the details, which I have a tendency to get stuck on.
